Memorial Day is Monday, May 29
Memorial Day is a federal holiday in the United States for remembering the people who died while serving in our country's armed forces. The holiday, which is currently observed every year on the last Monday of May, originated as Decoration Day after the American Civil War in 1868. There will be a Memorial Day service at the Grass Lake Veteran's Memorial next to the library on Monday beginning at 10:00 AM, followed by a procession to the east cemetery on E. Michigan Avenue across from the Pious Union Church for a recognition of veterans.
